On Sept. 27th the second annual Healthy & Fit Expo is happening at the Lansing Center. The MidState chapter will have a booth at the expo this year. We are also looking for volunteers to help man the booth for the day. We also need a few people in the morning 6am-10am to help with setup at the expo. If you are interested please contact me
From Healthy & Fit magazine:
“Healthy & Fit Magazine is proud to present the second annual Healthy & Fit Magazine Expo. Generously sponsored by Ingham Regional Medical Center and WLNS-TV6, this free event is geared for the whole family and showcases the best wellness products and services this area has to offer. It’s the perfect compliment to the Capital City River Run 1/2 Marathon and 5K, which takes place Sunday, September 28. This year we’re excited to include more lifestyle services, and more vendors, and are happy to report that most hands-on activities have been moved indoors. Unlike other expos and events, you have the choice to come and visit with vendors, or to come ready to play on our rock wall, take a free class as part of the demonstration stage or play with some of the area’s top athletes in our interactive activity area.”
Some of you may have heard that there will be a race at Sleepy Hollow State Park this year. Well, the rumors are true. The race will be Saturday Oct. 25th starting at 9:00am. As of now the plan is for an 8 mile race course with varying laps depending upon the class.
There is a trail day scheduled for Sept. 6th at 9:00am to prepare the course for the race.
Legg Park in Meridian Township has been approved to add a small amount of singletrack for mountain bike use. The new trail sections have been flagged and Steve is looking for volunteers to help with the construction of the trail. If you are interested in helping with the construction at Legg Park contact Steve.
Anderson park is coming along pretty well. There is one complete loop finished and most of the second one done. The second loop can be ridden by connecting to the access road and following that back to the trailhead. Additional trail days will be posted in the future to continue the building. Signs have been placed on the existing trails to make it easier to follow.
